The President of the South African Chamber of Commerce in the USA (SACCUSA), Neil Diamond, has announced that the long-awaited passport renewal centre rollout by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA), in partnership with VFS Global, is now operational in the United States.
This important milestone follows the commitment made by Leon Schreiber, Minister of Home Affairs, to improve and modernise service delivery for South African citizens living in the USA. South African citizens and dual citizens may now renew their passports through these enhanced services.
Following the successful launch of VFS Global passport services in New York and Washington, DC, effective 29 January 2026, additional VFS Passport Centres have opened across the United States at the following locations:
* Atlanta – operating on Saturdays only
* Chicago – operating on weekdays
* Houston – operating on weekdays
* Los Angeles – operating on weekdays
* Miami – operating on Saturdays only
Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications at the centre most convenient to them.
