SACCUSA was proud to be at Atlanta City Hall as Mayor Andre Dickens announced that the 2028 Olympic Torch Relay will begin its U.S. journey in Atlanta before travelling through all 50 states and culminating at the Los Angeles Olympic Games.
This is another exciting sporting highlight for our city and welcome news for South African businesses in the USA. Global sporting events bring people together, strengthen international connections and create opportunities for tourism, hospitality, trade and investment.
From the unforgettable moment when Muhammad Ali lit the Olympic cauldron in 1996 to Atlanta’s role in welcoming the flame in 2028, our city continues to build on a remarkable Olympic heritage.
For SACCUSA, this is an opportunity to celebrate our adopted country while championing the South African entrepreneurs and businesses contributing to its vibrant economy. We look forward to helping our business community connect with the opportunities this international spotlight can bring.
Congratulations to Mayor Dickens and everyone involved in securing this honour for Atlanta. We are proud to be part of the journey!
